Seribelle, a Journey Inspired
by Thai Silk Farmers
Growing up in rural Chiangmai, Manyasiri (Pear) Chotbunwong helped her grandma feed the hundreds of silkworms in her silk cooperative.
The majority of cocoons are boiled to extract golden silk filaments, but Pear discovered many cocoons were discarded because they were broken through by moths, abnormally-shaped, or loosely spun. Motivated to create value from these neglected materials, Pear turned the cocoons into exfoliating scrubs, which became Seribelle’s first product and our current bestseller.

Star Ingredient
Sericin is a natural protein found in silk cocoons that forms a protective film over the skin which reflects UV radiation, stimulates collagen synthesis, and inhibits cell death. By donating an electron to neutralize free radicals, it can also limit oxidative stress and slow cell breakdown.

Thai Farmers
Seribelle extracts Sericin from broken cocoons that can not be spun into silk threads. We are committed to sustainably and ethically sourcing discarded cocoons from Thai farmers who organically-raise their silkworms free from pesticides and giving them an additional source of income.
Creating Opportunities
for Women
Seribelle supports former female inmates who face greater difficulty finding employment by helping them take part in our affiliate program. Seribelle’s affiliate program combines our fair-trade business model and financing program to offer free starter sets to affiliates and allow them to repay the cost once they have successfully sold the products, keeping the profits.
Respecting the Environment
Seribelle Silk Cocoon scrubs are made from sterilized half-cocoons that slip over your finger like a thimble. These are a great replacement for the environmentally-detrimental plastic microbeads used in facial foam, which were banned in the US in 2015 but are still legal in many Asian countries. We also support silk farmers who raise their silkworms free from pesticides or chemicals.

Our Impact
HER Period Dignity
Half of profits earned from all Seribelle products sold are used to fund our feminine health and hygiene organization to distribute reusable pads and FDA-approved sugarcane fiber pads to women and girls in need.
MYS One-for-One Campaign
Seribelle is committed to our promise to leave no one behind. In 2020, our founder Manyasiri launched a covid relief campaign called ‘MYS’ to donate hand sanitizers to 11 rural communities and public hospitals across 5 provinces in Thailand, which has been continued as part of Seribelle’s service initiatives.
